Room One provides local, high-quality organic vegetables free to our neighbors who walk through the door of our One Stop Support Center. In 2015, 3,200 bags of fresh produce were distributed to individuals and families. Produce is available seasonally, and ranges from spring and summer fruits and vegetables like salad greens, strawberries and tomatoes to fall storage crops like carrots, squash and potatoes.
In addition to providing produce to all clients who receive services from Room One, produce is also made available to low-income families through the Women, Infants and Children’s (WIC) program).
To learn more about produce distribution, call Room One at (509) 997-2050 or stop by.
Sponsored by Family Health Centers of Okanogan County, the Women, Infants and Children program (WIC) helps families with children under five years of age with essential food and nutrition needs.
WIC provides supplemental funds for various high-protein foods and infant formula, breastfeeding support, and assistance in keeping babies and young children healthy through a balanced diet.
WIC is available at Room One on the 1st Thursday of each month, 9:00-3:30.
The Women, Infants, and Children outstation is staffed by Kimberly, Maria and Corinna. For appointments, please call 1-800-660-2129 ext. 3600 or (509) 322-2676
