(September News) Moving foward from the community conversation Room One co-hosted with LIttle Star and Twispworks on what it takes to make ends meet in the Methow Valley, a dedicated group of nonprofit leaders have been meeting regularly to share ways they support the financial stability of their employees. This group of nonprofits has shared policies, explored big ideas, and started to build an common survey tool to better understand how best to support our incredible staff. As you would expect, an employee’s experience can vary widely depending on whether they need healthcare, support with childcare, financial advice, family leave to care for elders, or more intangible benefits like flexible hours. As we continue to learn and grow together, one thing is certain - doing this work together makes us stronger. We are learning from each other, opening up the discussion to others, and building common resources to make sure our important work has a sustainable future.
